Are you someone who likes to learn new knitting skills? Do you enjoy knitting cables? If so, this is the scarf knitting pattern for you! You will embark on a knitting journey with Travelling Cables.

This year, I am intrigued with Travelling cables. Instead of straight up and down cables, these cables also move side to side. There are so many options to design! This Travelling Cable scarf knitting pattern is designed to introduce you to travelling cables. Who doesn’t like learning new cable knitting skills?

This scarf has 8 different sections. You will learn master the art of knitting traveling cables by the end. Each section will be unique. The picture shown illustrates the first section.

This scarf was designed with Knit Picks Swish worsted weight yarn. However, any worsted or aran weight yarn will work.

Finished size:
Each section is 8″ x 8″ (20.5 cm x 20.5 cm) and the finished scarf is 8″ x 64″ (20.5 cm x 163 cm)

Each section uses approximately 80 yards or a total of 640 yards. However, you can use one solid colour, or each section can be a different colour. This is a great project to use up some of your yarn scraps.

Gauge: 18 stitches x 26 rows =4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) Stockinette Stitch

Needles: 5 mm (8 US) or size to get gauge.

Enjoy and happy knitting!
