This hat is knit in the round and seamless. Add on the Relax with Cables Cowl, and you will have a GREAT set!
There are two different ways to knit this hat. You can choose to knit the beanie style or the slouch style. There are instructions for both of them.
Beanie: (Height x circumference)
Toddler: 7.5” (19 cm) x 13.5” (34 cm)
Child: 8.5” (21.5 cm) x 16” (40.5 cm)
Adult Small: 9” (23 cm) x 18” (45.5 cm)
Adult Large: 9.5” (24 cm)x 20” (51 cm)
Slouch Hat: (Height x circumference)
Toddler: 9” (23 cm) x 13.5” (34 cm)
Chid: 10” (25.5 cm) x 16” (40.5 cm)
Adult Small: 10.5” (26.5 cm) x 18” (45.5 cm)
Adult Large: 11.5” (29 cm) x 20” (51 cm)
This hat was designed with Knit Picks Swish yarn. However, any worsted weight yarn will work!
Amount of yarn required:
Beanie:
Toddler: 100 yards (90 meters)
Child: 120 yards (110 meters)
Adult Small: 150 (135 meters)
Adult Large: 170 yards (155 meters)
Slouch:
Toddler: 130 yards (120 meters)
Child: 150 yards (135 meters)
Adult Small: 180 yards (160 meters)
Adult Large: 200 yards (180 meters)
Gauge: 18 stitches x 24 rows – 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) in Moss stitch
Needles: 5 mm (8 US) circular hat needles or size needed to get gauge.
