How You Can Save Time and Frustration with Seamless Knits

written by KnotEnufKnitting May 20, 2016

HOW DOES A SEAMLESS SWEATER SAVE YOU TIME AND FRUSTRATION?

Also in this Series for Getting Started with Seamless Knitting:
1. THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A SEAMLESS KNIT
2. 6 THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A KNITTING PATTERN

I know you all love to knit. I do too! In fact, it has become my stress reliever, anxiety reliever, best hobby, and gives me lots of satisfaction. There are so many benefits from knitting. But, do you ever get frustrated with a knit? I do. Frustration is NOT a good thing when knitting is supposed to boost my mood.

MY NUMBER ONE FRUSTRATION WITH KNITTING
Hands down, my number one knitting frustration is a seamed knit. When I first started knitting, I would knit sweaters in five different pieces. I would start with the left side, then the right, the back, and finally the two sleeves. After I was finished knitting, I had to get out my tapestry needle and sew, sew, sew. There were a lot of seams. I just wanted to knit. I didn’t want to have to sew everything together. However, once I discovered seamless sweaters, my frustration levels decreased tenfold. I fell in love with them. After I was finished knitting, I ONLY needed to weave in a few tail ends. Then presto, the knit was finished and I could move on.

HOW DOES A SEAMLESS KNIT SAVE YOU TIME?

  • Fewer tail ends
  • No sewing
  • Knit in one continuous piece – Do not have to knit separate pieces
  • You can try on the sweater before it is finished to make sure it will fit! (Don’t need to frog the whole sweater if it doesn’t)

HOW DOES A SEAMLESS KNIT SAVE YOU FRUSTRATION?

  • NO sewing
  • NO seams in the finished garment
  • More modern finished look
  • Get more accomplished

Granted, we knitters have so many dreams on what we want to knit and accomplish. Is it a reality that we will get all of our to knit list finished? Definitely not! Each knit takes time, lots and lots of time.

Some of us have more time than others, but never enough time. I would love to sit and knit for a week straight. But, in reality, that is not an option. Life gets in the way. We need to eat, sleep, clean, work… you get the picture. Knitting is a hobby. It fits in when we have a free moment here and there. Us knitters are always looking for ways to get more accomplished. I guarantee you will be more accomplished with a seamless knit.

Again, what is better than less stress and more time to knit? A dream we all wish for! 🙂

What is your number one frustration with knitting? Let me know in the comments below, and tell me how excited you are to try a seamless knit!
