Sometimes, knitting designs come quietly. I designed The Diamond Blanket pattern and felt that it needed a matching hat pattern. Thus, this Diamond hat pattern was born. Honestly, there is something about these simple diamond stiches that are so eloquent!
I also designed a child cardigan to match this pattern as I fell in love with the design. However, this cardigan pattern is in the middle of testing. But, you can purchase the set The Simple Diamond Collection and get The Diamond Blanket, The Diamond Hat AND The Diamond Cardigan when it is released. Honestly, this set would be adorable for any little boy or girl!
As usual, my hat patterns come in many different sizes. This pattern has 9 sizes included from a NB size hat to an Adult Large.
Although I designed this pattern for a beanie hat, you can easily knit it in a slouch style. Pattern includes the directions for both.
There is as 4” (10 cm) built in positive easement for stretch. The following are finished circumference for each size:

NB: 10” (25.5 cm)
3 mths: 12” (30.5 cm)
6 mths:13” (33 cm)
12 mths:14” (35.5 cm)
Toddler:15” (38 cm)
3 – 5 yrs:16” (40.5 cm)
6 – 12 yrs:17” (43 cm)
Adult S:18” (45.5 cm)
Adult M:19” (48 cm)
Adult L:20” (51 cm)

Yarn: This hat pattern was designed with Knit Picks Swish worsted weight yarn. However, any similar worsted weight yarn will work!
Needles: 5 mm (10 us) circular hat needles or size needed to get gauge
Gauge: 18 stitches x 26 rows = 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) in stockinette stitch
