Mystery Knit Cable Scarf 2026

written by KnotEnufKnitting February 12, 2026

Welcome to the Mystery Knit Scarf 2026 where we will knit beautiful cables!

This MKAL is available for $8.00 USD

Are you someone who loves knitting cables? This MKAL scarf features eight distinct, beautifully structured cable sections. Designed to build from one section to the next, the result is a clean, seamless finish.

I am embracing larger cables this year. Last year, I designed the Autumn Cable Scarf with smaller cables. But, this year I am thinking chunky. I am still using a worsted weight yarn, but the cables will really pop!

Yarn:

The scarf features Knit Picks Simply worsted weight yarn. This yarn is soft, durable and cozy! It comes in many natural earth tone shades. However, any worsted weight yarn will work.

Yardage:

Each section uses approximately 80 yards (72 m) or a total of 640 yards (432 m). You can use one solid colour, or each section can be a different colour. This is a great project to use up some of your yarn scraps.

This is a ONE time purchase. If you purchase on Ravelry, you will receive each clue as an update to your Ravelry library. When you purchase on my website, you will receive an email to download the pattern. When you purchase on Etsy, I will email you each clue as it’s released.

There are a total of 8 clues that I will release on the following days:
Note: We release all clues on a Friday to give you some awesome week-end knitting. Other than clue 4. It will be released on a Thursday before Easter.

Information file: Feb. 12th
Clue 1: February 27th
Clue 2: March 13th
Clue 3: March 27th
Clue 4: Thurs, April 9th
Clue 5: April 24th
Clue 6: May 8th
Clue 7: May 22
Clue 8: June 5th

Needles: 2 x 5 mm (8 US) needles / small circular needles or size needed to get gauge

Gauge: 18 stitches x 26 rows = 4″ (10 cm) x 4″ (10 cm) in stockinette stitch

This pattern comes fully written and charted for your convenience. You get to choose which method you will use.

Come and join knitters from all around the world knitting this Mystery Knit Cable Scarf!

I will host this MKAL in my Knotenufknitting Knit-a-longs.
