Knitting and crocheting are two totally different crafts, however, I have found that a crochet hook is such a handy tool to use while I knit. Recently, I discovered how easy it is to bind off with a crochet hook. This may become my favourite way to bind off. Especially on long bind offs. It is easier to hold the stitches in my left hand and my crochet hook in my right. Instead of using the right side of my circular needles to do the bind off.
The only precaution is to make sure you are using a similar size crochet hook to your needle size. If you use a too small crochet hook, your bind off will be tight. If you use a too big crochet hook, your bind off will be too loose. Just verify that your needle size is similar to the crochet hook size. I would recommend the crochet hook to be the same of one size larger. This is also something you can play around with to ensure you get the right tension on your bind off.
I have created a video tutorial to illustrate how this is done. Enjoy and happy knitting!
