I love the colour description, ‘shocking pink’ I can just imagine it! How old is your granddaughter?

Hi, Lara
I”m knitting my second mermaid tail! I made the first in the 6 month old size for a baby shower – of all the gifts she received, she (and everyone else) loved it most. I’m not on my second one in the 6 year old size which i a little bigger than my niece is now but I want her to have it for a while.

Al aso recently purchased your Comfort Sweater Dress pattern. When the yarn I chose arrived today, I’m having second thoughts on whether the weight of the yarn is enough for this pattern. I picked Phymouth Yarn REVEL (made in Italy) – it’s 85% baby Alpaca and 15% Merino Wool. What are your thoughts…should I purchase a different yarn and save this gorgeous yarn for a shawl or some other garment?

Hi Kat! That’s a great idea to knit the mermaid tail as a baby shower gift! You’ll enjoy knitting the larger size as well πŸ™‚ I sent you an email regarding your question on the yarn. Thanks!

Hi. I live in Scotland and like a lot of your patterns but am a bit confused as to the weights of the wool. We have 1 ply which is very fine to Aran or chunky and I’m not sure how to equate this with “worsted” for example. Can you advise.

Im the same, also in scotland and struggle with wool types and weights. Would love some advice too

Hi Nancy,
For my patterns that use worsted weight yarn, you can use aran weight yarn. It is slightly lighter than worsted weight, but if the gauge is the same, it will work quite well! I have had testers for my patterns who have used aran weight instead of worsted weight.

I’m looking for an easy mermaid tail baby blanket. I’m still what you would call an advanced beginner. Wil any of your patters work for me?

If you are an adventurous beginner knitter, any of the mermaid tails would work for you. The cables on these mermaid tails are very straight forward. They would be the first cable I would knit. Have you knit in the round? These mermaid tails are also knit in the round. http://www.knotenufknitting.com/portfolio/little-mermaid-tails-knitting-pattern/

Your love of cables is clear in your designs– so glad to find your pattern as. I am working on an adult size version of the joy cardigan — are the pickups at the collar and bands to be just pickup or pickup and knit?

Hi! Thanks for your comment, they are to be picked up and knit with the working yarn.

I am confused by the pattern of beginning the tail on the mermaid blanket….my understanding seems disjointed….Wonder if anyone could help step by step beginning when there are 39 stitches on 2 dpns…….there is a paragraph between this and binding off that seems to be duplicating (divide again?)

Hi, I have bought several of your patterns and just love them. I have knitted the mermaid tail, sweaters and lots of hats for my granddaughter. I was wondering if you have a cardigan that has buttons all the way down?

Hi, I have bought a couple of your patterns. I really love the detail to your designs. I just finished the Adult Mermaid and have to say that it turned out beautifully! Initially it was a selfless gift for my stepdaughter, but now I think I want one too! Thanks so much!

I’m knitting up your mermaid blanket and just a little hesitant how to proceed doing a partial round (guessing that is what it says and no need to overthink!) and transfer to done?! Appreciate some guidance if that’s possible

Hi am currently doing your Little Amelia Cardigan age 4 but am experiencing problems when it comes to the divide it seems to throw the moss stitch pattern out. I contacted LoveKnitting who I purchased the pattern through and they have tried to help but was wondering if anyone else had experienced a problem. Absolutely love the design just can’t get it right round the divide. Look forward to your comments
